Status Report on The First M1F Project

Got some news to report on what I call the first project for the M1F. I talked with my friend Chase, who's pretty much in charge of this project, and he's told me that even though it has been collecting dust for the past few weeks (due to him being busy with school and other projects) he intends to get back at it sometime over the Christmas break.

He also tells me a good majority of it has been done and he plans to send me a bit of it when he gets a chance. Depending on what I see, I'll decide how much (if any) gets shown here. I don't think I'll show all of it, at least until it's complete. But if I do, it'll probably be screenshots at best.
So that's the story so far. Probably by the end of the year, or January, the first project will debut online. But, if there's one thing I know about this, all of this is subject to change.
That's it for now. I'll have another update soon.

Status Update

It's been a while since my last post here, so here's a status report:
-- I've decided to delay working on "Mark of the Wolf" until late 2006 or 2007 at the latest. But I'm not totally abandoning it. For details, go to the MOTW page.
-- On my other project, the one I'm working with my online friend, well I haven't heard anything new on that because my friend has been very busy with school and I haven't heard much from him. I do know that he is working on it and a good part of it is done. More likely, I won't hear anything new until around the Thanksgiving weekend at the latest.
-- I do have some new ideas for possible short films. But right now, they're just that, ideas. Maybe on my next update, I'll fill you in on those ideas.
So, as it stands right now, I'm looking at getting a camcorder around Xmas or January ( I do have a choice in mind, but it could change as time progresses), then comes testing the camera out and possibly getting some added software early next year, then doing a few small projects in the spring and then starting on some major filming around the summer. I can honestly say that this is a more realistic goal.
That's the latest news right now. I'll have another update in a couple of weeks.

Project Update

Here's the latest on the M1 Films front.

--Mark of the Wolf: Plans for the teaser trailer have hit a slight snag. For the latest, click on the MOTW movie page here.

-- Top Secret Project: Talked with my friend Chase, who's primarily working on the first M1 Films project for me. He tells me that the live action part of the project is done, now he's doing the special effects part of it, which will take a bit longer. When he tells me it's ready, I'll have it ready for you.
I also figured I'll tell you a couple of things about this project. I'm only telling a little bit though, I want to keep it under wraps till the last possible minute.
First off, the project's not a film, but a trailer. It'll be a trailer for something that I might want to do down the line, but we'll see how things go with my other projects. And, the trailer is fan film related, based on one of my favorite comic book heroes.
Enough about it for now. Hopefully the next time I'll talk about this project would be to reveal everything about it, including actually showing the finished work.
-- Script Idea: I've come up with an idea for a future short. About a guy accused of murder, but we won't know if he actually did it or not till the end. I'll keep working on that one. Who knows, maybe that will be what I'll work on early next year.
That's it for now.

The First Project Has Begun!!!

Hey there.
The first project, albeit unofficial, has gotten underway. My friend Chase has informed me that he's started work on a project that I've written the script for. I can't say anything more than that right now, but it's pretty freakin' cool!!! When he tells me more, I'll post it up here.

Mark of the Wolf Page Revamped

I have revamped the page for my major film project, "Mark of the Wolf". I have taken the few posts that I've done for it so far and have moved it over to one of the Blogger pages.
Basically it'll be the same as the old page, only a lot cleaner and I'll be able to post a lot more stuff about the movie.
Click on the link on the side page for all the old news on this movie and keep checking back as the film moves closer to reality.

Welcome to Mark One Films!

Welcome to the launch of my newest venture, MarkOne Films.
This will be where I'll be talking about my future film projects that I'll be working on in the coming months, including some short films and my big project, "Mark of the Wolf".
Right now, pretty much all these projects are in various stages of development. There is something I do have set up, thanks in large part to an online friend of mine, but I don't want to reveal it just yet, cause at this stage, there's a chance things could change and that it could fall apart altogther. So, for right now, it's best not to say anything about it just yet.
In the meantime, the first true "official" project under the M1 Films banner will be in October, where the first teaser trailer for my "Mark of the Wolf" film will be released. For more about this, you can click on the link above. I'm looking forward to finally putting this together, for this will be the first tangible display of what my pet project will be about. So stay tuned.
So what are my goals here? What do I have in mind with this new venture? Well, basically, I want to write, produce, direct and topping the list, learn. I've always been fascinated with moviemaking. And I've only had a taste of doing it while I was in college. In recent years, however, I've seen a ton of fan films, online sites and have talked and shared emails with others like me that has fueled my interests to do something like this. Right now, I don't know where this will take me or where it could lead, but I'm definitely looking forward to it.
So for right now, after the trailer's release in October, I plan to get a camcorder and work on a short film sometime next year to see what I can -- and cannot do -- when it comes time to film MOTW sometime next summer.
In the coming months, I plan to fill you all in on what I have in mind. Mostly, I want to do original projects, stories that come straight from my head. But there may be a time where I may feel the need to do a fan film of my own. My tastes tend to lean towards sci-fi and fantasy. Where superheroes, monsters and things of an unique and unusual origin take place. But who knows? Depending on how things go, there may be a story here and there that takes place in real life.grounded in reality.
Another thing I want to do with this page is to use this to interact with the many people who I've met online or in person with films of their own to promote. If there's one thing I've learned is there's nothing wrong with networking, so from time to time, you'll hear from them as well.
So that's it. It's a humble start but hopefully in the next year or so, I expect MarkOne Films to be as vital as the rest of my website. Maybe even more.
So stay tuned, and keep watching.
